Good night's sleep so woke at 7.30 and had early breakfast and on the road by 9.30.
we stopped at Surfer's Paradise at people watched - fascinating - especially the Aussie fruitcake who was taking the surf school lesson - hilarious!!
Had lunch at Redland Bay and met a guy originally from Folkestone who wanted a quick squizz at the van as he was thinking of buying one.
Drove on to Cleveland and caught the ferry across to North Stradbroke Island ( or Straddie as it is known locally) and after being turned away at 3 camps we were finally let in to the Thankful Rest Caravan Park at Point Lookout!
Went fishing on the beach and then walked to the local restaurant for our evening meal - very nice Italian place called La Focacia and met a lovelorn Scottish girl who had gone travelling for a year but 'fell in love' the second week she was there and ended up waitressing in his Mum's restaurant! we celebrated our last night with a bottle of bubbly and were fairly merry by the time we got back to the van!!
Needless to say was asleep not long after our return - oops!!
